Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother Has Passed Away at 93

BANGKOK — The Bureau of the Royal Household announced Friday night that Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother passed away peacefully at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital at 9.21 p.m. on October 24, 2025. She was 93 years old.

The announcement stated: “Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother had been residing at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, Thai Red Cross Society, since September 7, 2019. The medical team was monitoring various bodily systems.

During her stay, Her Majesty fell ill several times as doctors discovered abnormalities requiring continuous treatment....

💛 King Rama IX Memorial Day renamed Nawamindra Maharaj Day

King Rama IX Memorial Day, which is marked annually on October 13, to “Nawamindra Maharaj Day”.

The name for the day was bestowed by His Majesty King Rama X, a news source said.

The word Nawamin stands for the “ninth great person” and Maharaj means “great king” – an apt reference to King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, who was the ninth king of the Chakri dynasty.

Thailand’s much-beloved His Majesty King Bhumibol the Great passed away on October 13, 2016, at age 88. His reign, lasting 70 years and 126 days, was the longest in the history of Thailand.

The day of his passing, October 13, has been enshrined as a national holiday to commemorate his benevolence and royal initiatives.

กองทัพบกเผย “เสียงลำโพงชายแดน” สะท้อนความไม่พอใจของคนไทยต่อการบุกรุกพื้นที่ โดยไม่มีเจตนารุนแรง

        จากกรณีที่ พลโทหญิง มาลี โสเจียตา โฆษกกระทรวงกลาโหมกัมพูชา ได้แถลงถึงการนำคณะผู้สังเกตการณ์ชั่วคราว (IOT) เข้าตรวจสอบพื้นที่หมู่บ้านซุกค์ และหมู่บ้านเปรยจัน ตำบลโอเบยเจือน อำเภอโอโจรว จังหวัดบันเตียเมียนเจย ประเทศกัมพูชา (ด้านตรงข้ามบ้านหนองหญ้าแก้ว ตำบลโคกสูง อำเภอโคกสูง จังหวัดสระแก้ว) ภายหลังได้รับรายงานว่ามีการออกอากาศเสียงจากลำโพงในฝั่งไทย ซึ่งมีลักษณะเป็นเสียงที่ก่อให้เกิดความตื่นตระหนกและรบกวนการพักผ่อนของพลเมืองกัมพูชา โดยเฉพาะกลุ่มเปราะบาง อันเป็นการละเมิดหลักมนุษยธรรมและบรรทัดฐานสากล

        พลตรี วินธัย สุวารี โฆษกกองทัพบก ได้ออกมาชี้แจงว่า ก่อนอื่นต้องทำความเข้าใจบริบทของพื้นที่ดังกล่าวก่อนว่า เป็นพื้นที่ที่ฝ่ายกัมพูชาบุกรุกเข้ามาในเขตไทย มีความขัดแย้งมาอย่างต่อเนื่องและอยู่ในสถานการณ์ที่ไม่ปกติ โดยที่ผ่านมาจนถึงปัจจุบันก็ยังพบว่าฝ่ายกัมพูชามีการจัดตั้งมวลชนร่วมกับเจ้าหน้าที่ทางการ เข้าขัดขวางและยั่วยุต่อฝ่ายไทย ทำให้ประชาชนคนไทยได้รับผลกระทบและเกิดความไม่พอใจจำนวนมาก จนหลายกลุ่มได้ออกมาแสดงออกด้วยวิธีต่าง ๆ เพื่อกดดันชาวกัมพูชาและเรียกร้องให้เจ้าหน้าที่รัฐเร่งดำเนินการจัดการกับปัญหาดังกล่าว หนึ่งในนั้นคือการใช้เครื่องเสียงเปิดเสียงในลักษณะที่อาจทำให้ประชาชนกัมพูชาเกิดความไม่สบายใจ

      โฆษกกองทัพบกยังได้กล่าวต่อว่า การแสดงออกของชาวไทยในการเปิดเครื่องเสียงดังกล่าวนั้น เป็นการแสดงออกด้วยวิธีที่ไม่ใช้ความรุนแรง เพื่อแสดงความไม่พอใจที่ฝ่ายกัมพูชาบุกรุกแผ่นดินไทย และบิดเบือนสร้างเรื่องราวตลอดระยะเวลาที่ผ่านมาโดยไม่พยายามแก้ไขปัญหาที่เกิดขึ้น ในทางกลับกัน หากมองย้อนไปที่ฝ่ายกัมพูชา จะพบว่าเมื่อมีการชุมนุมมักใช้วิธีก้าวร้าวและมีสิ่งเทียมอาวุธเข้าทำร้ายเจ้าหน้าที่ไทยจนได้รับบาดเจ็บ ซึ่งเมื่อพิจารณาแล้วจะเห็นได้ว่าฝ่ายกัมพูชาควรหาทางแก้ไขปัญหาอย่างยั่งยืน แทนที่จะออกมาเรียกร้องต่อการกระทำของฝ่ายไทยในกรณีที่เกิดขึ้น

      ที่ผ่านมามาตราการต่างๆ ที่ฝ่ายไทยจะต้องนำไปใช้ในการแก้ปัญหา จึงต้องมีความระมัดระวังเป็นพิเศษ  เพื่อไม่ให้เข้าทางของกัมพูชา  

      

     ทำให้ในทุกๆ วิธีการที่อาจถูกนำมาใช้เป็นองค์ประกอบสนับสนุนในการแก้ปัญหาในพื้นที่ของ จ.สระแก้ว นั้น  เจ้าหน้าที่ได้คำนึงถึงหลักสิทธิมนุษยชนควบคู่ไปด้วย  เพื่อให้เห็นว่าการบังคับใช้กฎหมาย ยังคงเลือกวิธีที่จะก่อให้เกิดอันตรายน้อยที่สุดก่อน

Royal Thai Army: ”Border Loudspeakers“ Express Thai Discontent Over Territorial Violations, Not Aggression.

Regarding the case where Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, spokesperson for the Cambodian Ministry of Defense, issued a statement about bringing the IOT to inspect the areas of Souk Village and Prey Chan Village, O'Bei Choan Commune, O'Chrov District, Banteay Meanchey Province, Cambodia (directly opposite Ban Nong Ya Kaew, Khok Sung Subdistrict, Khok Sung District, Sa Kaeo Province) after receiving reports that there was audio broadcast from loudspeakers on the Thai side, which was of a nature causing panic and disturbing the rest of Cambodian citizens, especially vulnerable groups, constituting a violation of humanitarian principles and international norms.

     Major General Winthai Suwaree, Army Spokesperson, came out to clarify that first, it is necessary to understand the context of the said area—that it is an area where the Cambodian side has encroached into Thai territory, there has been ongoing conflict, and the situation is abnormal. From the past until present, it has been found that the Cambodian side has organized civilian groups together with government officials to obstruct and provoke the Thai side, causing Thai citizens to be affected and resulting in considerable dissatisfaction, to the point where many groups have come out to express themselves through various methods to pressure Cambodian people and demand that state officials expedite action to manage the said problem. One of these is the use of sound equipment to play sounds in a manner that may cause Cambodian citizens to feel uncomfortable.

    The Army spokesperson further stated that the expression by Thai people in playing the sound equipment is a non-violent form of expression to show dissatisfaction with the Cambodian side's encroachment on Thai land and distortion of facts throughout the past period without attempting to resolve the problems that have occurred. On the contrary, if we look back at the Cambodian side, it can be seen that when there are gatherings, they often use aggressive methods and have weapon-like objects to assault Thai officials until they are injured. Upon consideration, it can be seen that the Cambodian side should find a sustainable solution to the problem, rather than coming out to protest against the Thai side's actions in the case that has occurred.

 In the past, various measures that the Thai side must implement to resolve the problem have required special caution so as not to play into Cambodia's hands. 

This means that for every method that may be used as a supporting element in resolving the problem in the area of Sa Kaeo Province, officials have taken human rights principles into consideration as well, to demonstrate that law enforcement still chooses methods that will cause the least harm first.

It often feels as though Cambodia has never truly recognized the kindness Thailand has extended. Yet, one cannot ignore the shining example of compassion and dedication embodied by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. Through her tireless efforts, she has given Cambodia not just schools, but a foundation for a brighter future.

Back in 1992, during her visit to Cambodia, she saw the struggles in education with her own eyes. Rather than turning away, she chose to act. By 2001, she had even donated her personal funds to build the Kampong Chheuteal High School in Kampong Thom province a gift not merely of brick and mortar, but of opportunity, dignity, and hope.

This school became more than classrooms and textbooks. It was equipped with clean water systems, fish ponds, and farmland so that students could learn by doing. It had sports fields for health and growth, and scholarships to open doors that poverty might otherwise slam shut. Every detail reflected a vision: to empower young Cambodians to stand tall and build a future for themselves.

Thailand’s gift to Cambodia, through her, is a friendship carved not in treaties or trade deals, but in the lives of children who now hold the tools of learning. It is a reminder that real diplomacy is written in acts of kindness, not empty words.

This royal school stands today not only as an institution but as a living monument to enduring friendship a heartfelt offering from Thailand, carried by the grace and vision of Princess Sirindhorn. Cambodia may not always see the depth of goodwill extended, but history will remember.

หลายครั้งเรารู้สึกว่ากัมพูชาไม่เคยมองเห็นน้ำใจของประเทศไทยเลย แต่ก็ปฏิเสธไม่ได้ว่า สมเด็จพระเทพรัตนราชสุดาฯ ทรงเป็นดั่งสัญลักษณ์แห่งความเมตตาและความมุ่งมั่น พระองค์มิได้มอบเพียงโรงเรียน แต่ยังมอบรากฐานของอนาคตที่สดใสให้แก่ชาวกัมพูชา

เมื่อครั้งเสด็จฯ เยือนกัมพูชาในปี พ.ศ. 2535 พระองค์ทอดพระเนตรเห็นปัญหาการศึกษา และเพียงไม่กี่ปีต่อมา ได้พระราชทานพระราชทรัพย์ส่วนพระองค์เพื่อสร้างโรงเรียนวิทยาลัยกำปงเฌอเตียล จังหวัดกำปงธม นี่ไม่ใช่เพียงอาคารเรียน แต่คือของขวัญอันยิ่งใหญ่แห่งโอกาสและความหวัง

โรงเรียนแห่งนี้มีทั้งระบบน้ำสะอาด บ่อเลี้ยงปลา พื้นที่เกษตร สนามกีฬา และทุนการศึกษา ทุกอย่างถูกออกแบบเพื่อให้เยาวชนกัมพูชาได้เรียนรู้ทั้งจากตำราและจากการลงมือทำจริง เพื่อให้เขามีแรงและปัญญาในการสร้างชีวิตที่มั่นคง

While preaching “peace” on the world stage, they secretly plant landmines inside Thai territory — 

an area patrolled daily by Thai soldiers.

This is not a mistake; it is 

a deliberate act to harm Thai personnel and defy international humanitarian law.

📌At 09:15 hrs today, Sgt. Teerapon Phiakhantee of Ranger Company 2610 stepped on a landmine near Border Marker R51, well inside Thai territory — a location patrolled daily by the unit.

R51 stands as undeniable proof that the blast occurred within Thailand’s sovereign territory.This is an act of barbaric cruelty and a grave violation of international humanitarian law.

We demand more than condemnation. The international community must:

 • Pressure the perpetrators to be held accountable.

 • Deploy independent international observers to the site immediately.

 • Enforce international measures to prevent further violations.

the Governments of Thailand and Cambodia to cease all hostilities along the border—effective from 00.00 hours on 28 July 2025 —as a pathway toward peace and strengthened cooperation between neighboring nations,

On 29 July 2025, Major General Vithai Laithomya, Spokesperson 

for the Royal Thai Armed Forces Headquarters, stated that Thailand 

has strictly complied with the ceasefire agreement. All offensive actions were halted immediately upon the effective time, in full adherence to 

the commitment jointly made 

by both governments.

However, after the agreed ceasefire deadline, Cambodian forces continued to launch attacks into Thai territory 

at multiple locations. Such actions represent a deliberate violation of 

the ceasefire and a serious breach of trust expected between neighboring countries.

The Royal Thai Armed Forces condemn these repeated violations by the Cambodian side. Thailand is therefore compelled to respond appropriately, exercising its legitimate right to self-defense in accordance with international law. Thailand has not initiated any aggression, but has acted 

solely to protect its sovereignty 

and ensure the safety of its people.

Accepting such behavior sets 

a dangerous precedent normalizing injustice in the international system. The Royal Thai Armed Forces therefore call upon the international community to stand firmly for truth, justice, and 

the rule of international law, in pursuit of lasting peace.

Summary of the Thai-Cambodian Border De-escalation Meeting

29 July 2025

At 10.00 hrs on 29 July 2025, 

a bilateral meeting was held between Lieutenant General Boonsin Padklang, 

Commander of 2nd Army Area of 

the Royal Thai Army, and General Pov Heng, Commander of Cambodia’s Military Region 4, to address and 

de-escalate tensions along the Thai - Cambodian border. The meeting concluded with the following seven key points of agreement:

1. Ceasefire.

2. No use of force against 

Thai civilians.

3. No additional troop reinforcements.

4. No troop movements.

5. Thailand will facilitate 

the evacuation of the wounded 

and the recovery of the deceased Cambodian military personnel 

from the combat area.

6. Both sides agreed to establish 

a joint coordination team comprising four officers from each side, 

under the responsibility 

of Thailand’s 2nd Army Area, 

Royal Thai Army. In this regard,

Thailand has appointed the Deputy Commander of the Suranaree 

Task Force as head of 

the Thai delegation.

7. All military units are to reduce 

all forms of confrontation and await the outcome of the upcoming General Border Committee (GBC) Meeting between Thailand and Cambodia, 

scheduled for 4 August 2025, which will serve as a basis for restoring peaceful coexistence.

One-year-old Moo Deng yawns as

CHON BURI - Thailand’s pygmy hippo Moo Deng marked her first birthday

on Thursday, leaving behind the animal infancy that boosted her to worldwide internet fame for her cute antics.

Khao Kheow Open Zoo has been transformed and decorated for 

the occasion, and packed with international visitors and media crews, all eager to catch a glimpse of 

Moo Deng, who was calmly enjoying her first birthday in the pool.

Thursday was the first day of a four-day festival at the place where Moo Deng — meaning “Bouncy Pork” in Thai — first frolicked to stardom and amassed 

five million social media fans.

The celebration, starting at 8am, featured a variety of activities and attractions for visitors of all ages, 

with free admission for children 

under 12 through Sunday at the zoo 

in Chon Buri, about a 2-hour drive

from Bangkok.

Visitors enjoyed mascot parades 

and meet-and-greet sessions 

with Moo Deng’s keepers who shared cute stories about their celebrity charge. The zoo also hosted a market selling Moo Deng licensed goods and auctions for the hippo's memorabilia
